The Medical Research Society (MRS), College of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka recently organized a highly successful 3-day online/hybrid workshop on Hands-On Data Analysis Course using STATA (Basic & Intermediate). Led by Dr. Dimkpa and his team, the workshop was held from Wednesday, 7th June to Friday, 9th June 2023, at Lecture Hall 2 in Fragani, Okofia.
The workshop was meticulously planned and flawlessly executed, providing a comprehensive learning experience to all participants. Dr. Dimkpa and his team put immense effort into ensuring that the workshop was organized with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail.
One of the key highlights of the workshop was its hybrid format, allowing participants to attend both in-person and online. This innovative approach was adopted to accommodate the diverse schedules and geographical locations of the participants, enabling a wider range of healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, lab scientists, and others, to join the workshop.
The workshop commenced promptly at 10 am each day and continued until 4 pm, ensuring optimal utilization of time for knowledge sharing and practical exercises. Mr Chisom Godswill and his team devised a well-structured agenda that covered both basic and intermediate topics in data analysis using STATA, a powerful statistical software widely used in research.

The workshop fostered a collaborative learning environment, encouraging active participation and knowledge exchange among the participants.
“I am truly impressed with the MRS Research Data Analysis Workshop. The course content was well-structured, and the trainers provided clear explanations. I now feel confident in my ability to perform data analysis using STATA.”
The workshop attracted a total of 55 enthusiastic healthcare providers who were keen to enhance their data analysis skills. The diverse backgrounds and expertise of the participants contributed to rich discussions and a vibrant learning atmosphere. The hybrid format ensured that individuals from different locations could participate without any geographical constraints.
“As a nurse, I found the workshop to be immensely valuable. I particularly enjoyed the hands-on exercises, which helped solidify my understanding. This workshop has enhanced my research skills and will undoubtedly contribute to improved patient care.”
